The Oceanic Bodywork Institute provides you with the possibility of following, in three different methods OB Aqua, OB F&E and OB Air, two different types of training:

  • Professional training based on competences in collaboration with the National Associations
  • Personal growth
and additionally
  • Continuous training


Training of professional Bodyworker in collaboration with the NA


This training requires:


For OBA

215 hours of courses on aquatic techniques, divided in 5 courses
208* hours of courses regarding the foundations of the profession, social sciences and the basics of medicine (segment shared with OB Fire & Earth and OBAir)
15 sessions supervised by Trainers (5 to be received and 10 to be given)
75 sessions of practice (35 to be received and 40 to be given)
680* hours of individual study are estimated
Final examination
It qualifies to offer paid sessions and provides access to regional recognition.


For OB Fire & Earth

140 hours of courses about massage techniques on land, divided in 4 courses
208* hours of courses regarding the foundations of the profession, social sciences and the basics of medicine (segment shared with OBA and OBAir)
10 sessions supervised by Trainers (5 to be received and 5 to be given)
60 sessions of practice (20 to be received and 40 to be given)
665* hours of individual study are estimated
Final examination
It qualifies to offer paid sessions and provides access to regional recognition.


For OBAir

Training in the definition phase.



*These hours, or a part of them, may be recognized in equivalence in the event that the competencies have been acquired with other trainings recognized from NA.




Training as personal growth


This training requires:


For OBA

215 hours of courses on aquatic techniques, divided in 5 courses
40 sessions of practice (20 to be received and 20 to be given) before the last technical course.
It does not qualify to offer paid sessions.


For OB Fire & Earth

140 hours of courses on massage techniques on land, divided in 4 courses
40 sessions of practice (20 to be received and 20 to be given).
It does not qualify to offer paid sessions.


For OBAir

Training in the definition phase.




Continuous training valid for all methods


There is an obligation for bodyworkers and teachers to keep up to date with courses and sessions. All OB courses and other courses that fulfil the need for continuous training and / or specialization are valid.


Every 3 years:

50 hours course
6 sessions given
4 sessions received by students/Bodyworkers/Teachers



N.B .: the OB courses are automatically recorded, the sessions given and received must be recorded online from your profile (Session log), while the non-OB courses must be validated by the National Associations.
